- Mommy, come play with me!
Experts at the American College of Sports Medicine have made it publicly known that we should all kick off our shoes (or lace them up) and get out and play more!
Cut a rug, play some Kan-jam (which is, by the way, the GREATEST game ever!!), jump over some ropes, or spin the hula!
These type of activities can lead to better hand-eye coordination, improved problem solving skills and lower stress levels which can lead to improved overall quality of life. - No salt for me, thank you.
Do you have any idea how much salt you are consuming in a day? The American Heart Association reports that the average American consumes approximately 9 to 12 grams per day!!! To give you a better idea, this is TWICE the recommended daily dosage!
The truth is, salt is inherent in most all foods, and unless you made it from scratch, chances are you aren't really seeing how much is going into your body. High salt intakes can lead to high blood pressure and concurrent heart disease.
So next time, pass on adding any salt to your meals. Keep your veggies healthy and salt free and draw your attention to what is going into your body so that you can keep your heart safe for the sake of your family! - Age Well
Quick and dirty of this link: lifestyle choices affect how we age and the quality of life we lead. Learning to find a balance between the stressors and choices which can lead to a fulfilling life may be the key. The tips to get you there?- Eat your Potassium.
- Power of positive thinking.
- Get your cardio in!
- Consume the 'good' bacteria.
- Vitamin B & D
- Omega 3s
- Maintain strong social connections.
- Tai-Chi or forms of meditation
- Cut out the cow (red meat)
- Eat your Potassium.
How's your weekend shaping up? Got any big plans? Is the sun shining where you're at!?

we hula hooped yesterday here!
and, judging but the fact it is supposed to POUR outside today we shall do that and...leapfrog perhaps?
make a hopscotch grip with tape and jump?
(can you tell I have NO CLUE yet?)
Miz.
It's such a deceiptful little apparatus, the hula hoop. It looks so harmless--colorful and feather-light.
And it has COMPLETELY defeated me.
Upon admitting my defeat last year on my blog, I soundbited it into the creation of a brand new exercise: the swivel/swivel/squat, but it really was a cave-in. :)
Hope you have a fantastic weekend there! Here, we have sun today, but rain for the weekend. poo.
Mate, my weekend just began with me getting a bit tipsy :D Tomorrow I'm headed out into the wop wops (middle of no where) for a BBQ with the mates, and probably more tipsiness. And yeah :D Fun weekend ;)
Couldn't have said it better! Actually, I couldn't have said it as well :-)
2 to 2 1/2 grams Sodium / day should be enough.
I feel years and years younger since exercising committedly and taking care of myself. It's better than botox ... maybe. I'd be too scard to try botox. LOL
Play.
Reduce the salt.
Have an optimistic outlook.
Got it!

Hey,
You are so right about the sodium. I never paid that much attention to it until my dad, who has congestive heart failure, had to limit his fluid intake and sodium intake drastically. Only then did I realize just how much sodium is in our diets. When I eat too much I blow up like a blow fish :)
